So well.. Jo had asked me to draw himself in anthro form. I had been meaning to get some practice on a different style of drawing, as well as drawing anthros. Well not completely different form of drawing, but sketching the design out is more roughedged and 'sketchy' instead of trying to make it so perfect from the getgo. Of course I can only really do this on my tablet and use ctrl-z for every line I dont really like. (sometimes I even feel like I want a ctrl-z button on peices of paper.. odd how stuff like that transfers over.. (like thinking I want a hearthstone to get home because I've played too much WoW)) So the sketch took me a few tries to get right, but I think I got a look that suits him. The sketch and inking took around shy of 1.5 hours. The shading however, took me the longest part of this, using the oC watercolour brushes to work out and define the shapes better. I also found there was a flaw in the left shoulder, it was taking over the shoulderblade in the back there.. I managed to fix it a bit, but theres still a bit there you'll see. The shading probably took me about.. 3 hours total, but I also think spending the time to colour it in oC instead of using dodge and burn in photoshop gives a result that makes it look even that much better. Luckily enough for me, jo is all white, so I didnt have to worry about colours . Texturing came next, which only took about 30 minutes by itself, and added a nice highlighting look to the fur. oC was also used for this. Went onto the magical effect there, which didnt take more than 10 minutes, though it was just sortof me mishmashing ideas until something came out. Pop the picture into photoshop to boost the contrast, add the name and shadows etc, and there you have it.

I might have gone a little over the top on this, but what can I say, dont waste inspiration ^..^
